Motherboard: Ryzen B350 DDR4 VR Ready HDMI USB 3 ATX Motherboard (B350 Gaming Plus)
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
When I installed my cpu into my motherboard nothing would show up on my monitor, but my computer was on. There was a red light on my motherboard and I have been told that I have to update my BIOS. I am not sure how to do this any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately like most boards, you need an out of the box compatible CPU in order to update the BIOS.
The only exception to these are the later B450 boards from MSI that have a BIOS Flashback which allows it to be CPU-less and still be updated.

You would need another CPU and then update the BIOS as per the motherboard manual first.
Then you can install the new CPU.
