Hi guys,

I'm having this problem in all games I have played so far on this new build. When playing games, cutscenes play as smooth as silk, so too moving / strafing with the keyboard, however, using the mouse to turn / look around causes an almost micro-stutter resulting in choppy gameplay.

Games played so far: BF4, Witcher 2, Payday 2,Arma 3, The vanishing of Ethan Car, Splinter Cell:Blacklist, Titanfall, Crysis 3

I have tried the following so far:
Clean installs of OS (on hdd and ssd) and games (on hdd and ssd)
All drivers up to date (and tried with combinations of some older drivers)
Switching off all unnecessary processes, programs and virus software
Disabling steam / origin overlays, stopping geforce experience from scanning for games daily
disabling / enabling any streaming services relating to steam / geforce etc
Samsung Magician (on and off)
Swapping out GPU (gtx 980 for gtx 680)
Trying out gpu and ram in different slots
Reapplying TIM and cooler
Testing psu
Reseating all cables and ram/gpu
Resetting / updating bios with different power managment options
Altering options in geforce experience and control panel
testing ram using memtest86 (4 passes, all fine)
various stress tests (furmark, prime95 etc)
tried different usb ports and only leaving in the minimum needed like mouse and / or keyboard
tried different mice and ps/2 keyboard
Tried different monitors
Tried different graphical settings and resolutions
cpu and ram at stock speeds

Also tried the windows update http://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/2908279 however when I try to install it I come across this eror "The update is not applicable to your computer". This update also states that if the game has RAW input enabled this would automatically fix this issue anyway. This isn't the case for me as BF4 has RAW enabled for the mouse and still the problem persists. I've also tried the regedit fix http://www.howtogeek.com/175722/how-to-fix-mouse-lag-in-pc-games-on-windows-8.1/ and this seems to have no effect either. :??:

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance :)

Have you tried updating ALL of your drivers? Meaning even the Intel Chipset drivers and the USB drivers? If not yet, you should try using Iobit Driver Booster. It searches for ALL of the outdated drivers in your computer, downloads it, and installs it for you. Try it out, test your games and let me know if it worked.

As far as I'm aware I have, however I'll give it a go and see if I've missed anything, cheers

Hi, it has updated two drivers (one was chipset), however it hasn't fixed the problem and the games still run choppy (almost like it is moving across a grid from point to point) when using the mouse.

thanks

I had this with a 6950. If I move with keys it was fluid soon as I moved mouse like you said moving on a grid turned out was a bad gpu Had to rma it. Does this happen only in 1 game or any you play?

Hi bang9, thanks for the reply. It happens on all games I play, some react worse than others but it still occurs on all games. :/

Have managed to rule out a faulty GPU by swapping out a gtx 980 and testing it with my friends gtx 680 which works fine in his computer and still the problem persists.

Am thinking of taking the whole pc apart this weekend and completely rebuilding it bit by bit to see if that has any effect.
