[SOLVED] MSI G27C4 165Hz Monitor (displayport) only getting 59Hz

Newish to PC gaming. Just bought my first real gaming monitor not top of the line but I love it. Except the refresh is advertised as 165Hz but it shows only 59Hz. It is connected by displayport. Can anyone help me get the advertised 165Hz? or even close. I have a Radeon RX580 BTW if that matters

Most likely the Displayport cable is dodgy. Test with HDMI, should be able to set 144Hz.

Regarding Displayport cable, make sure it's HBR2 or HBR3 and Vesa certified. Club3D and Accell are certified brands.
