Please tell me what is actually better for gaming and i am thinking of overclocking in the future, im just a bit scared about coil whine for the msi

Both are great. Get which ever costs lower.

Definitely the MSI GeForce GTX970 Gaming 4GB. It runs far quieter than all than all the other brands GTX 970s and also overclocks at the highest rate. The MSI card Overclocks to 1500+ and a gigabyte card wont go over 1400mhz. So considering that you are thinking of overclocking, then I think your option should be definitely the MSI.

Is the possibility of coil whine high with the msi? and how is it caused?

It is normal for the MSI card to be running at a constant 40-43 degrees idle? I know the card is designed to have its fan completely off below a certain (quite high) temperature threshold, but i'm just wondering if this isnt going to kill the longevity of the card in the long run. Should i manually increase the fan curve for the fans to kick in earlier and cool it off more, or is this entirely fine? The highest measured temperature i have seen in a game up to this point was 61 (far cry 3)
