DISCLAIMER: I'm sorry if this is too long but please for anyone that knows what's causing this take your time to read the details because I'm really confused on what to do or to buy.

I recently bought an MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX laptop and since the first day I bought it I started noticing that it stutters in almost every big game I throw at it and it's starting to get annoying overtime. I tried literally everything software wise I even reset my windows couple times and nothing really happened it had the same issue and I can't seem to figure out what's the problem.

SPECS :

Product Name: MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Ver.1909(OS build 18363.720)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
Ram/Memory: 1x8 gb (8192 MB @ 1333 MHz, DDR4-2667, Samsung M471A1K43CB1-CTD)
HDD: Segate ST1000LM049-2GH172 - 1TB 7200 RPM drive
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 4096 MB GDD5

DETAILS & What I noticed:

I noticed something very strange about it, when I installed BF3 which even my old pc can run I can play it just fine but it stutters when the autosave kicks in every checkpoint and it freezes for 2 seconds then loads the checkpoint, and also in FiveM I can play with normal fps but it stutters randomly for 1 to 2 secs and when I drive cars at high speeds it stutters really badly and it becomes unplayable here is a video of my stutter in JC3:
Video
As you can notice sounds are looping and things going weird. My question is what the hell is causing this problem is it my RAM or my HDD. From my research some people say that HDD won't solve your problem and some others say I need to switch to dual channel memory and I can't seem to find an actual fixed solution for this . What I think it is maybe HDD? It stutters at "saving" in BF3 which is an old af game and I should run it just fine. I don't know anymore. Literally the only game that I don't get any stuttering in is Roblox. Others stutter or micro stutter which is just annoying. Please I really need to fix the problem this is my first ever gaming pc and I'm already having <Mod Edit> ton of problems.

Thanks looking forward for your responses

That's why.
Dual channel is a must in today's games. Single channel doesn't cut it anymore.

Also, I noticed a possible moment of gpu thermal throttling in the video at 19 seconds. Gpu jumped up to 88C, usage dropped to 40%, but the core clock didn't appear to move...
Yea it is really weird, so I should just get dual channel it's not my HDD? Because it lags in the parts where it saves the checkpoint in BF3 which is a game from 2011, I used to play it on a laptop which uses 2x4 ddr3 memory and it didn't have that problem + it had an older hdd, so yeah maybe that's the problem.

What's the speed of the HDD? 7200? 5400?

You sure the game isn't using all 8GBs of ram and then writing temp files to the storage drive?
My HDD is 7200 RPM & and I don't know didn't monitor ram usage. It only happens when it tries to save checkpoints freezes for 1-2 secs then after it finishes I can countinue playing smoothly at max settings, but for other games like fivem it's just stuttering everywhere and randomly when you walk etc

so maybe ram?

96.5%(too high) maximum memory load, plus running in single channel... you need more memory.
If you can acquire an identical stick to the one you have, that would be great.

I loaded BF3 it works fine until the checkpoint "saving" part it freezes for 600 to 1 sec and when I monitored my ram that's the usage I just want to confirm if it's ram or something else because it doesn't seem to be using it all this time (this is game is from 2011)

Checkpoint 'saving' would be storage for the most part. The cpu + ram have to send that data to the storage drive, after all.
Running on a full storage drive?
nope I have 800GB left, and I don't know what's causing it man I have a limited budget and I don't know if it's ram or hdd is there a way to figure out what's causing this to happen

is there a way to figure out what's causing this to happen
1)Download HWINFO: https://www.hwinfo.com/
Run, and check 'Sensors Only'. Leave it running in the background.

2)Play your games - the more samples you have, the better, for accuracy.

3)Record/take note of the following when you transition to the next game:
Cpu temp max
Gpu temp max
Storage temp max
Cpu usage - EACH CORE/THREAD! Using whole cpu usage will reduce accuracy! All it takes is one core to be a cpu limitation.
Ram usage
Gpu usage
Anything HWINFO flags in red

4)Before starting up the next game, and after taking records for the previous title, click on the clock icon at the bottom-right window of HWINFO. This resets all the graphs.
Wouldn't want you mixing up results between games...

5)Once all that's done, tally up the results between all the samples. There should be a 'common denominator' among them all.
If, by some chance, there isn't, then the problem is most likely caused by software or drivers: certain antivirus programs, outdated/corrupt drivers, commercial bloatware, etc...

I've played SCP Secret lab and BF3 all on max settings (I had stuttering accross both games) here are my logs of hwinfo I don't see anything weird do you? I really don't know (Open them in any excel viewer online or smth)

I'm sorry if this is a lot man but I really need to know what to buy either ram or ssd or a whole computer. My old pc had dual channel memory (ddr3) and an hdd and it didn't freeze at the saving parts.

BF3: Cpu power/current limits
-drive warning
-sample is only like 3 mins long...

SCP: Over 90% memory load
-cpu thermal throttling: it appears very briefly - in the very last timestamp
-power/current limits
-drive warning again

GTA V: Over 90% memory load
-power/current limits
-drive warning...

1)Check storage drive health. Here's a link for Crystal Disk Info: https://crystalmark.info/redirect.php?product=CrystalDiskInfoInstaller
If drive condition is poor, prepare to replace it.

2)Run Windows high power plan - if you aren't already. If you've already done that, then the next move would be to go into bios and raise the power and current limits - if possible. It may, or may not be locked.
If you can successfully change those limits, then you will need to work on undervolting the cpu and gpu to keep temps down; higher power use, higher temps.
Here's a guide for it: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1085513-laptop-undervolting-guide-intelnvidia/

I have an american megatrends bios (this is an MSI laptop) I can't really change the power limit on it. and my drive state is on "Caution" here is a pic:

checked power plan and it's on high performance. Is there a way to fix the power temp limit for an MSI GF 63 THIN 9RCX and what should I do at this point when I go to the retailer that I bought it from.

I believe we've found the problem: Reallocated Sectors Count.
The current value has far exceeded the threshold. In simple terms, the drive is failing.
Look into replacing that storage drive; make a backup of any and all important files on the drive.

Nay, I wouldn't worry about that anymore. Get that storage drive replaced.

For crying out loud, how these folks still have their jobs...
If you need something done right, I guess you'll have to do it yourself.
Yeah I already sent a report to MSI with all the proof they need, this could be a giant scam, people that are not tech savy at all can fall for this.

I have replaced my hard drive and it's still doing the same stuff, it starts off fine then after few mins gpu usage starts dropping all the way to 0 and the game freezes for couple seconds, this is on GTA 5, I also noticed that the CPU's tdp is limited to 25w and I have a 45w cpu. This problem only happens in demanding games:

What I've tried so far :

  • Undervolt CPU core & CPU cache to -125mv
  • Undervolt & Overclock the GPU
  • Increase the tdp limit in throttle stop (it literally did nothing)
  • Update bios and EC frimware to the latest ver
  • Update Nvidia drivers to the latest ver
  • Change the busted HDD.

    - Here are the limits when I'm playing GTA 5

    - This is my GPU's curve (GTX 1050ti) Pascal:

Note : I've also noticed that when I stress test the CPU after 2m the clock speed just goes down to 2.7
