Hello,

I had a few issues to get my brand new Ryzen 3600 to work : first the motherboard would not recognize it, then completely freak out and not get any video output on the GPU, etc.

Now everything seems to be working, except the motherboard takes forever to POST. By that, I mean that it takes about 30s to reach the MSI logo, then it reboots, then reboots again and finally launch Windows.

I didn't install the chipset driver, since I don't need the Radeon software (i have an nVidia GPU).

What could be the cause of this? Should I return the CPU/Motherboard combo?

Thanks in advance for your time :)

Firstly an x570 is a tad overkill for the 3600. Secondly try going into the bios and set the 'fast boot' option to enabled. It sounds like you might have a bad board though.

You should also install those chipset drivers, your Nvidia graphics card uses a different set of drivers, the chipset drivers have other software that is utilized by the CPU and the motherboard.

I wanted it to be futureproof, so that I could upgrade at some point to a 4th gen Ryzen without having to change the motherboard. That, and it was sold bundled at a ridiculously good price for my country, so I saw no point paying the same price for B350 :)

Will do, although I also have a Linux dual-boot, and i'm pretty sure that fast boot is incompatible with Linux.

Will also do, I really hope i'm not having a serious hardware issue though.

You shouldn't have any conflicts. Also the dual linux boot might also be an issue, should've mentioned that as well in the beginning, can't rule it out. I don't know if that's what causing your issue exactly though. Also make sure you flash your bios to the latest firmware to ensure full stability with your cpu and mobo.

Updated everything, so far I'm not having any trouble.
POST time back to what i consider normal. I will double-check but I don't think there's an issue anymore.

Thanks for your help 😀
