MSI P55-GD65 Power supply

I looking at getting this motherboard for a new i5 build, but I'm not sure my power supply will work with it.
My power supply has a 20 pin 2x10 plug and a 4 pin, 2x2 connector. Now I know that the 20pin connector is ok, because from the manual it states:

You may use the 20-pin ATX power supply as you like. If you’d like to use the 20-pin
ATX power supply, please plug your power supply along with pin 1 & pin 13.

But I'm not sure if the 2x2 pin connector will work with it ok in the 2x4 slot on the motherboard or not as it's not mentioned in the manual. I know that it will physically fit by looking at the pin shapes and that the Gigabyte UD4 motherboard does support using the 2x2 connector.

The only other thing that the manual states is:

Make sure that all the connectors are connected to proper ATX power supplies to
ensure stable operation of the mainboard.
Power supply of 400 watts (and above) is highly recommended for system stability.
ATX 12V power connection should be greater than 18A

Any one know if it'll be ok?

It's an Enermax 550W EG651P-V(E)

Output: +3.3V@40A; +5V@46A; -5V@1A; +12V@24A; -12V@1A; +5VSB@1.8A

I've found this FAQ entry: http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=faq2show&faq_no=38 that says that it will work. That along with the at least 18A comment in the manual that I posted above makes me think that it will work because my PSU will deliver 24A on the 12V rail.

For confirmation to others, this is the reply I got from MSI regarding this issue:

You can plug 4-pin power supply to the ATX 12V Power Connector: POWER1 (8-pin), but if your computer can not work stably, we would suggest you use 8-pin one.

I'm going to give it a go and see how stable it is and let you know in a week or so when I have everything up and running.

Hey i just got this board and that 8-pin POWER1 connection actually had a little plastic cap over half of the POWER1 connection! Anways, this is my first build really too, and that little cap through me off kinda because I have both 4 and 8pin line out of my PSU i could use there...so i ask google about the: "p55-gd65 power1 8 pin connection" and found my answer here! (i<3goog) I am thinking they put the nifty little cap on there to hint that 4pin is ok?
