Hello, I've recently moved to i9 13900k platform with the follow components:

i9 13900k
MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4
F4-3200C16-16GTRS x 4 dimms
Gigabyte rtx2070 super

When I got into bios to enable XMP the system restarted and locked without sending any signal but the memory fail led was on. Resetting bios fixed it, BUT whenever I pressed the reset button returns to locking state again and unlocks in random time, the same happens if I force shutdown from power button on the case. I flashed the latest bios and this seems to fix those issues, I pressed the reset plenty of times and rams didn't fail on startup, but the xmp still causes the ram to fail. I bought the 2 of the dimms four months ago for my previous build and added two more of the same set which have been bought from the same store. After all this fights the system runs fine but the cpu-z shows tha 2 dimms run at 2133 and the rest at 2666 is there a problem with ram? XMP is still off. The xmp value is 3200 for all of them.

cpuz screenshots

Is this normal to happen?

Solution

This one set, but cpuz removes the letter. Both kits are the same name
So you bought 2 separate kits, they might and might not work together.
Set XMP to the 3200
go to advanced and change the 3200 to 3000, and command rate from 1T to 2T.

Does the platform POST with 2 sticks of ram?

MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4
What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard at this moment of time?

You've stated that you'd flashed the BIOS to the latest version, did you clear the CMOS after you'd verified that the BIOS was successfully updated?

You forgot to mention the make and model of the PSU and it's age.

The board now has the latest bios update 7D91v16, after updating it POST with any combination of these ram sticks. Yes I have cleared CMOS after bios flash. The PSU is a Corsair RM750x and it is 2 years old.

But are the cpuz values normal?

cpu-z shows tha 2 dimms run at 2133 and the rest at 2666 is there a problem with ram?
It doesn't show that.
All ram runs at same frequency (if installed in same system simultaneously).
You have to look in CPU-Z - memory section.
Spd section shows spd entries for specified ram module. Not current operation mode.

Is this normal to happen?
Well yes. Those problems can happen, if you mix multiple ram kits together.
That's why, it is recommended to use single ram kit.

You can try overclocking your ram manually.
Set DDR voltage to 1.35.
Set Command rate to 2T.
Set latencies to 16-18-18-38

Set DRAM frequency to 2133mhz, test. Should work fine.
Increase DRAM frequency gradually and test after each step.
2400mhz, 2666mhz, 2800mhz,2933mhz, 3000mhz,3200mhz.
When test fails, return to previous settings that worked.

It seems ok, it runs at 2133 https://prnt.sc/svUx1DPIDzZG

I'm not that familiar with ram overclocking, aren't these the values indicated with manufacturer?

Your missing a letter in the part number can you post a link to the exact memory you bought.

Yes.

Yes. Those are manufacturer specified values from XMP profile.
But if you're overclocking manually, you have to set latency values manually also and not rely on automatic values
( since you're experiencing lockups in auto mode ).
