"My Computer" freezes from Desktop

Okay, I have an odd problem and I'm clueless as to what I should try now. My only problem is trying to open "My Computer" from the Desktop. When I do that, the new window opens, but it then goes Unresponsive. I also can't open My Computer from the Start button. But, I can open My Computer when I go through different folders or something.

I've tried running spyware programs and stuff, but I just recently built this computer, so it doesn't really have much on it yet. (A reformat isn't that hard to do, but seems a little unnecessary if this problem can be fixed quickly.) If anyone has any ideas on what to try (System Restore? I've never done one before, so I'm skeptical of it) please post. Thanks.

Are you having any problems with your cd/dvd drive? My Computer will hang if you have a bad cd/dvd in, as it's trying to read the drive to display the info.

No I am not. I thought of that also, and took out the CD I had in there, but that didn't fix it. Any other suggestions?

That was awesome, and it totally did the trick. I guess it was the Windows Image Aquisition that was doing it. I stopped that program and everything is working fine again. Well, except my keyboard, but that's a totally unrelated problem.
