Question My computer lags ONLY when playing games

when i bought my computer i had 4gb ram and there was a lot of lag so,i upgraded to 12gb ram but the computer is actually so fast but when i try to play games it lags a lot my specs are:

CPU Type
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8500 CPU @ 3.00GHz (8th gen)

System Memory
12 GB

Windows Version
Windows 10

Graphics Chipset
AMD Radeon HD 5450

Graphics Card
Memory Size
1024 MB

Storage 1TB

SSD 120GB

but the SSD contains my windows i think maybe my games are using the ssd rather than using the 1TB hard
can someone please help me!

Without full details of your CPU/GPU temperatures and % usage during the lag it may be hard to identify, however I would take a gander here:

Graphics Chipset
AMD Radeon HD 5450

Very low end GPU ultimately, not really suited for gaming (especially not modern gaming) so I suspect your GPU is limiting.

so could the GPU Temp affect anything?

Because yesterday i touched it and it was really hot

and i have a laptop without a graphics card and the specs are lower than my desktop but the laptop doesn't lag only my desktop with graphics card lags could the graphics be the problem?

Easily, all components have a thermal throttle limit. When they get too hot they'll downclock themselves to prevent damage. But i wouldn't trust your hand, you need a proper sensor reading using something like HWInfo.

Get temps and % usage when the lagging occurs and feedback here.

What exact i5 is it?

But going off most KabyLake specs, if the graphics are HD530 or mobile HD520 - then the Intel graphics are definitely better than the HD 5450.

And i tryed to fix the problem by making the memory clock high and the core clock high but the screen became black and there is a lot of yellow dots and the pc just rebooted repeating everything again. i have messed thing up didn't i?

but i pulled out the graphics card from the desktop and i think it works good,still little lag but better without the graphics card,NOT better than my laptop though

any help?

Yes the Iris 540 is significantly better than a HD 5450.
The HD5450 is a huge limitation.
