Reinstall?

Or just put it into standby and then unplug the cord once the computer is asleep (wont' damage anything), or put it into hibernate, next time when you turn it on, while it is resuming, press F8 once, and then press "Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu"

wat about the blue screen viewer software you asked me to install....
now wat to do
wat was the use of that software
please can anybody help me with my problem such that my my computer turns off normally........
please help me
bye

Here is a simple solution, Re-Install.
If it's probably that screwed up you will need a fresh install of the OS.

By the way if you didn't notice the last poster asked you to reinstall your OS as well, that is considered help.

1. Update your graphics driver.
2. Download ccleaner, and run the registry tool. You may need to run it several times to resolve all the issues.

If you have your XP disc, put it in your drive. Then go to start-->run-->type sfc /scannow and press enter.

I had a similar problem after installing a USB 3 PCI device. I've a duel XP and Win 7 system with two HD's running it. My problem was corrected by changing the bios power management settings.
I've a Gigabyte MB. In power management try using these settings: ACPI Suspend Type: (SS(STR)) Instant Off
PME Event Wake UP: Disabled, Power on by Ring: Disabled, Resume by Alarm: Disabled., HPET Supend: Disabled, AC Back: Memory and ErP Suspend: Disabled. By changing to these settings in power management in the bios my computer finally shuts down in both XP and Win 7 without restarting..........
