My CPU overheating...Help!?

Can someone help me please, this is my third post.. literally no one would answer..

i7 4790k processor.. with corsair h100i gtx idling at 50c sometimes even more..

What should i do!? Ive tried changing the thermal paste.. ive cleaned my pc.. I just dont know whats wrong with it.. 🙁

50c idle is not unsafe. It's a bit high, but many with watercoolers seem to have high idles. More importantly, what are your load temperatures?

Well at this current moment idle is over 60c im even scared to open anything... to check the load..

Your CPU will throttle to protect itself at 100c, and shut down at 130c. 60c is not even remotely dangerous to a modern Intel CPU, and you could safely pull the heatsink off while running and it would not be damaged, your CPU would just clock itself down to stay within safe temperatures.

What I suspect might be happening is that you have your pump is not spinning full speed. Is your waterblock warm to the touch?

Did you put the cooler the right way?Do u have background programs that are running?Is it overclocked? is the votlage and the clock fixed?

I was just thinking the same, i touched both tubes that run from the block and one was cold and one is hot.. maybe while cleaning the pc somehow the pump got damaged? and the waterblock is relativity cold not too warm..

I had this cooler on before and it was running fine, cleaned my pc and re-applied thermal paste twice.. still runs hot.. no background programs running, no its not overclocked and i have no idea about the voltage. 🙁

I checked the Corsair Link program and the pump is spinning at 2970-3060rpm

Yes, i had it the same way it is right now and it ran 35c idle but somehow it runs 50c now :/

also the connection between the cpu and cooler is good even checked the back bracket thing just to make sure.

If the liquid coming out of the block is hot, as OP stated it is, that suggests that heat is being transferred properly from CPU to waterblock. I suspect there's something wrong with the pump, e.g. perhaps there's air in it and it's not flowing very well, or perhaps there has been some sort of mechanical failure.

I really dislike AiO watercoolers. After more than a decade of custom loops, I stick with simple, reliable air coolers these days. Not only are they not failure-prone, but they also typically cool better at the same price.

Im considering getting the D15 as it is relatively cheap and Cryorig isnt available in amazon.uk, would it fit inside Corsair 300RR case?

The Coolermaster Hyper212 EVO is an older but well regarded cooler that can often be found for $25-30 US, and will also be plenty for your CPU. Heck, you could get away with running Intel's tiny stock cooler, though it would be noisy under load. I just can't see spending $90 on a cooler to run at stock speeds, considering even a $25 cooler will be quiet, and there are basically no benefits to spending more on a cooler other than reducing noise.

You might also look at some of Noctua's less expensive coolers, such as the NH-L9x65 and NH-U12S.
