I have 2 questions please.

When I open my computer suddently the shared docs and my user docuemnts
folders are gone. In reading online there is a fix but I can not find it.
Where can I get the fix to restore these folders, I tried the regedit but
that did not work and the knowledge base article I read said there is a
download availalbe. Can anyone help?

Additionally in control panel the printers and faxes icon is a general icon,
it seems to have lost itself as well as when I open my computer, under other
places the control panel icon is a general icon now. Is there not a restore
or rebuild of icons someplace?

Hi Mark,

THanks for replying! WHile I am nit sure if the missing folders will
reappear with the new User profile, I am fairly sure that the icon issie is
not realted to the user profile as I have 2 logons for this machine and both
have the same control paneland Faxes icons as being yellow folders on the
start menu and the generic text icon elsewhere.

How can I fix this issue?

Do an Upgrade setup
If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
