Well, after going to e3 for the first time on friday, I thought that you guys may want to hear some impressions. (Maybe not, but I don't care :->)
The battle of the small:
Both GBA and N-gage were cool. Some cool old school games, but IMHO N-gage was cooler in looks and comfort, AND it's got Red Faction. With Romero as a Developer, it will certainly be even cooler when they get more games.
The Shooters:
Unfortunatly I did not get to see DX2, but HL2 preview ROCKS!!! It's just amazing with those faces, very nice audio and graphics, and the physics seemed better than anything else out there (reminder: I missed DX2). I was personally very disappointed at doom 3. The graphics, apart from some very cool light effects, seemed sub-par by today's standards. The sound and what I saw of level design was very good though, I jumped as one of the monsters came out from a wall unexpectedly. Considering who the LD is on this one I think the looks will improve though.
The next Ghost Recon looked very neat, although not groundbraking. More of the same...
That goes for most of the games that I saw or tried, more of the same old stuff and very little ground braking styles or concepts, except maybe for XIII which looks like a cartoon/anime. It actually looks like a real cool concept, hard to describe as it is.
I really thought the new Starcraft game looked cool, but didn't get to take a closer look as I'm not that interested in consoles.
Unofficially:
I overheard some guys from Interplay talking while standing in one of the lines. It looks like they are making Baldur's Gate 3 even though they said they'd never do it! Way cool, if it's true.
That, and a lot of pretty girls, was e3 in a nutshell for me.

Poor windows was not a brave soul. Threatened by the force of General Protection and Major Problem the little OS committed suicide by hanging.
