So I finally make the decision to purchase the parts tomorrow and build my PC myself for the first time. I'm trying to avoid as many problem as possible by posting this list here. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/louisrossberg/saved/#view=RjM8dC

Please any possible teak and suggestion appreciated.

my major concerns:
1. Is the motherboard support the
i5-6600K.

2.any effects on gaming/daily use if i install Windows Embedded 8.1 industry Pro ( is it 64-bits as I can get it for free)
3. is 144hz monitor a wise choice for me. ( I am going to play battlefield 1 max setting at 1080P, assuming I'll get average 110FPS . Overwatch average 140FPS)

Solution

looks a good board in all honesty - i have a bit of disdain for msi boards mate so am somewhat biased, good higher end baords, poor low end boards - thats msi.
That board is squarely in the middle.
still think for another 15 quid id personally stump for the gigabyte z170 (especially if you havent purchased the ram yet)...

No there's plenty of good ones out there that don't cost an arm and a leg. The Cyrorig H5 is definitely one of those coolers but isn't available everywhere. For $15 more the Phanteks TC 12 is a much better unit. The Arctic Freezers are cheap pieces of junk and I stand by that. Liquid coolers aren't a bad option but the best air fans are generally better than most liquid coolers.

As far as GPU goes, MSI cards tend to run a bit cooler than Gigabyte's cards. Also the tri-fan setup on Gigabyte card is somewhat louder then the duo-fan setup used in MSI card.
Here's a good in-depth video review about 7 different GTX 1070 cards,
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf__ZGD9SUQ

About CPU coolers, found a comparsion between many big names in CPU cooling industry. To name the few: Cryorig H7, Cryorig M9i, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Noctua NH-D9L, Gelid Antarctica, Be quiet! Pure Rock, with alongside Arctic Freezer i11 and i32.
The comparsion is mostly about the noise CPU coolers make but like any good comparsion, the CPU cooling temperatures are also listed.

I still would not choose to use that thing over Cooler Master, Cryorig, Phanteks or Noctua. For the OP's budget I would do something like this.

I'm not getting it either , that m9i is borderline not enough for an i7.
I don't get the mitx board at all , that's a future restriction IMO

The gammaxx 400 is the cooler for value for money , £18 for something that beats anything under the £40/bracket.
That g1 nex psu is not a good model at all.

Z series board , better PSU , better cooler , £3 more.
Got to be worth it IMO

how important it is to have a good £100+ motherboard, and also I'm struggling choosing from i5-6600k and i7-6700k

The CPU cooler is out of stock , any other great replacement

Is a good motherboard inportant ? Do I need good motherboard to let the i7-6700k work properly ? I'm sorry but I basically know nothing about choosing a motherboard for the right CPU. I'm not looking for some excellent in-game audio quality.
And does the monitor comes along with the display cable or do we have to buy it? Thank you

just so much better mate, upto 30 quid for the cooler ??

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SilentiumPC-Fortis-HE1425-CPU-Cooler/dp/B014HISMIW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476128840&sr=8-1&keywords=fortis+3

the board really is unimportant if youre not bothered about overclocking mate, just the original mitx board you originally had is so so restrictive on actual size & upgradability & like 90 quid!!!!
Youre building in a standard matx case ,theres no reason not to go with a better featured full size atx board at all.
The asus z170 is a good board,the z170 x1 I put earlier is a decent baord & cheaper.
The z series boards keep your options open regarding overclocking.
I would argue that the 6700k is fast enough as it is & wont ever really require overclocking except on a hobbyist/enthusiast level.

If youre absolutely adamant you dont want to overclock then I still think the x1/3.1 is one of the best featured/best value h170 boards there is personally.

For the same matter do i think that the H170 motherboard i chose is good enough and it will look a whole lot better in that case you want.Taking that red ram makes it look very nice wih the window.
I would also still go with the EVGA GS psu.You don't need 650watts.

Yes it does.

Okay Let me summarise this:
Motherboard :
H170 :http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/kGqbt6/asrock-motherboard-h170ax131( £85 )
z170 :http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/xLPzK8/asrock-motherboard-z170ax131 (£104.5)
Z170 : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Q9Gj4D/asus-motherboard-z170a (£127.43 )

Description: In the case I'm going to get i7-6700k which give me enough power, won't consider overclock it at all. May potentially get a Nvidia Sli in 3-4 years later. Please post your comment which one should i get from these 3 mobo.

PSU:
Corsair gold 550W : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/3zNypg/corsair-power-supply-cp9020090na ( £82 )
rosewill capstone gold 650W :https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/HkdFf7/rosewill-power-supply-capstoneg650 (£71)
seasonic 650W bronze : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/nB3RsY/seasonic-power-supply-s12ii620bronze ( £73 )

Description: potentially sli in 3-4 years later. fine quality best value price ratio.

CPU cooler:
Cryorig M9i https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/LPVBD3/cryorig-cpu-cooler-m9i ( £22 )
SlientiumPC : https://www.amazon.co.uk/SilentiumPC-Fortis-HE1425-CPU-Cooler/dp/B014HISMIW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476128840&sr=8-1&keywords=fortis+3 ( £29.9)
Be quiet shadow rock 2 :http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/C7mLrH/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk013 ( £33)

Description: Best value price ratio.

So I'v listed out these 3 parts that have debates. I added description to it for the standard I'm looking for. Please leave your comment below about which one should I take for each of these 3 parts

If you're going for the SLI then do note that only Asus Z170 MoBo (£127.43) supports SLI. Two other MoBos doesn't support SLI.

Want SLI? Go for Asus Z170 (£127.43)
No SLI? Go for AsRock H170 (£85)

All PSUs are Tier two. And for the PSU quality, look the MTBF rating (mean time between failures), where higher MTBF ratings indicate longer device life and better reliability.
Corsair - MTBF of 100.000 hours.
Rosewill - MTBF of 100.000 hours.
Seasonic - MTBF of 150.000 hours.

Seasonic would be the best pick.

Some stats:
Cryorig - fan MTBF - unknown hours (unknown bearing)
SilentiumPC - fan MTBF - 50.000 hours (HSB / hydraulic bearing)
Be quiet! - fan MTBF - 80.000 hours (rifle bearing)

I'd go with Be quiet! CPU cooler.

If you're not overclocking you're wasting your money buying the i7-6700K. The i5-6500 would be a much better choice and will save you £100 on the CPU and £50 on the motherboard.

so thank you for all the useful comments you guys have posted and those are the parts I'v ordered.
I do think a lot in whether I will overclock the CPU and sli in the future and for long term consideration, I decided to make investment on the MOBO and CPU. I also noticed the lastest big title games are becoming CPU tense as well . For example BF1 which official minimum requirement of the CPU is i5-6600k. It may be a trend of future gaming

Solid mate , the only thing I don't like is the m9i in all honesty.
Not that its a bad cooler , at stock speeds it'll do the job absolutely fine.
Ever want to overclock in the future you will be replacing it though.

That system should in all honesty see you out for the next 3 years at least without touching it.

I'v decided to canceled the order of the CPU cooler when I read your comment and actually thought it over. If I'm gonna overclock it in the future I Probably have to get another cooler to replace this one, I would say you are right in this point for getting a good CPU cooler for a long term using. Any suggestion for any capable cooler under £35 ?
