Question My graphics card works only with my external monitor

So my laptop has Intel hd graphics and then gtx 1650 4gb and when i connect my external monitor, gtx 1650 works fine but when i just unplug my external monitor and use just laptop monitor it seems that only intel hd graphics works. (because when i play on my external monitor i have around 250 fps and when i play just on my laptop monitor i have like around 80 fps thats why i think gtx 1650 isnt working on laptop monitor). Can anyone help please so that gtx 1650 will start working even on my without my external monitor plugged in? Any help appreciated.

Edit: i use windows 10 home.

It’s quite possible that the panel on the laptop isn’t capable of as many hertz as the external monitor. If this isn’t the case you could check the graphics settings on the laptop.
