I just reformatted a Green Fantom Drive that should be 2tb and it's in NFTS mode on Default and now it says I only have 1.55tb of 1.57 free. That sounds way wrong, am I right?

Seems correct. There's always a part of the drive lost: https://www.easeus.com/partition-ma...r-missing-space-on-hard-drive-in-windows.html

Just make sure there are no hidden partitions, also your file system (FAT, Ex-Fat or NTFS) may impact total storage capacity.

Can you show screenshot from Disk Management?
On 2TB drive available capacity should be ~1862GB (1.82TB).
If you have only 1.57TB, then 255GB are missing.
