Question MY LAPTOP WON'T SHOW BOOT OR SHOW DISPLAY!

Hello, one day I was using my laptop then shut it down before going to sleep. The next morning I went to turn it on and it just wouldn't show anything, the light on the caps lock key blinks. I researched what the problem could be and some said try cleaning the ram sticks with an eraser and I tried but nothing, some said the cpu is broken so I bought a new cpu (my laptop has a replaceable cpu) but the problem still persists the something else said to get a new battery and I thought it would be the fix because I have a bad battery and always keep my laptop plugged in. My laptop is a Compaq presario cq62 - 220US. Hope someone can help and thanks in advance.

Don't go to far buying things to fix this, it's an old laptop, a system for about $100-150 with an Intel Core i3 or i5 CPU will be much faster. If you don't have backups you can just remove the drive and use it with an external enclosure to copy files out. Lenovo T420/420s/430/430s are my favorite laptops in the low to mid 100s range. There are often several of them on craigslist in good shape, only suggestion would be to find one with a solid state drive or spend a bit and get one.

Did you check the blink code on Compaq's support site to see what it may be?

Thanks I'll check them out and I'm gonna build a gaming PC soon so I probably will just copy the files to it. Yes i checked the websites but no luck, tried everything they said. Thanks alot!🙂
