So I have I5-4690 3.50GHz
Z97 ProGamer Motherboard
EVGA GTX 950
16GB RAM
I forgot about this PC and started using it again, and I used it for a couple of weeks, everything was fine and smooth, but after upgrading my BIOS, the Pc started feeling stuttery. Games that I used to have 80-90FPS (Forza Horizon 4), now is running at 20
Dota 2 that used to get like 150FPS, now is 40 FPS
Idk what happened but the PC has been running slow ever since the BIOS update
Hope someone can help

Solution
which bios version did you update too?
they all meant to improve stability - https://www.asus.com/SupportOnly/Z97PRO_GAMER/HelpDesk_BIOS/

why did you update? as its not always a good idea to be on latest bios, especially if PC is old and has worked perfectly fine until then. You normally only update to fix problems.

my last PC was an I5 4690K on an Asus Z97 Pro Wifi... its still in my room.

well, its not the Spectre changes as they never released that BIOS update for the board (thanks self from past) - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/asus-z97-pro-gamer-bios-update.3715754/

updated GPU drivers?
