I've a problem, my computer locks up totally when i insert a dvd in my nec, the only solution is the power-off button, I have reinstalled it with XP Pro SP2, but it didnt help, i have installed the latest bios and so on, new drivers to all my stuff. I have also tried to change my dvd to another, but the problem still exists

Computer:

Case is a Coolermaster Centurion 5
PSU 350 W
Asus P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard
P4 Prescott 3.2
NEC 3500
2 Gb DDR400 Samsung (4x512)
Maxtor 40 Gb bootdrive IDE
Seagate S-ATA 160 Gb storage.
GFX, Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800 XT
Soundblaster Audigy 2

Anyone have a clue?

Will the DVD drive crash when inserting a data CD? If not, could it be that the autoplay feature is trying to play the DVD and cannot find a proper DVD codec? Do you have any DVD player software installed? Have you tried uninstalling the drive and reinstalling via device manager? or disabling autoplay? Just guessing here. Good luck.
