I was working on word and powerpoint when my pen drive suddenly fails to save.

My pen drive has a label to it (work) , normally i would see the label when i plug it in, but after restarting my laptop, even the label wouldn't show up, now it only shows a drive letter.

I've tried it on a different computer, and it's still the same.

When i left or right click on the pen drive now, it will freeze file explorer.

All other pen drives are working normally, except this one.

I highly suspect my pen drive is dead now, but I have way too much important data on it..can someone help me?

I don't know what's the issue ..

The following is offered not to rub salt in anyone's current wound, but because this is a teachable moment for future readers:

USB thumb/flash/jump drives are a convenience item only, meant strictly for "quick and dirty" temporary storage to move things between machines, for instance.

Never keep sole copies of anything important on them. They are subject to random failure. Many last years and years, others not even a few months.

As a general rule, never keep sole copies of anything important. And the more important something is the more important it is to have multiple backups in different locations (as in at home, at the office, on cloud storage - not a jump drive at home, external backup drive at home, and computer at home - a fire or other disaster could wipe all copies out if they are located in the same physical space).
