Every time I open a photo, XP puts this damned annoying folder My Pictures
in My Documents.

Is there any way I can stop this? I don't need it and have to delete it.

Why on earth does Windows keep inserting files, folders and icons?

Thanks

....because Bill Gates and associates, in their infinite
wisdom and in response to wayward users of computers who
could not logically think through the use of directories
and sub-directories (or folders and sub-folders), decided
to dumb-down computing to the simplest denominator. Ignore
it and put the file in whichever partition, folder or sub-
folder that one wants or accept being dumbed-down.

This - http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article05-100 - may be worth a
try.

If you want to annoy people with idiotic statements, I'm sure there are
better places for you to do it.

That's a great site. Thanks for the tip.

In 4 years of Mac use Mr Jobs never insisted on re-setting my desktop, or
anything else.

Sure I've come over to the Dark Side, and become one of Bill's minions, but
I still don't know why he keeps insisting on placing files and folders all
over my PC. Perhaps its just his nerdy personality. Is he the sort of guy
who insists Mrs Gates must put everything in 'its place'.

We'll never know.

Thanks
