[SOLVED] My PSU is failing, how big are the chances of it damaging other components?

It's a Aerocool KCAS 500W 80plus bronze and i'll be trying to replace it with the same model since i know what caused it to fail. But i'm afraid it'll take down other components with it

Yes it can.
What can happen is....the voltage can go higher than you components can take....and then they fry.
I've seen it happen.
Not just with computers but with other electronics as well.

Does it not have some sort of protection to avoid that?
