Hello, I just upgraded from a 2070 super to a RTX 4080 Inno3d ichill, and im having some fps issues. The new 4080 is only giving me a fps boost of 30-50 fps. When I use my 2070 super and play fortnite on low settings I get almost a stable 240 fps, and my new 4080 is not even giving me 300fps on the same settings

Could it be bottleneck?

My specs:
Motherboard: TUF Gaming x570-PLUS
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 3600MHz 16GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT
SSD: WD Black SN850 M.2 NVMe SSD Heatsink 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM750 750W PSU

Pleas help!

are you playing on 1080p? if yes, the card is not for 1080p. This card should only be used 1440p and 4k.

The card is so powerful, that in 1080p its sitting around and waiting for the CPU and has to change from idle to full load constantly. Therefore, high end 4k cards can perform worse than weaker cards when in a 1080p CPU bottleneck situation. Basically, the card is bored and lacks motivation to even bother with the 1080p....

Try a very demanding game with raytracing and crank up all settings to the max with all the raytracing and see how it performs. Should do much better in that situation. Even so it will be still going through the work load like a soldering iron through butter....

But I have seen people on YT getting over 500 fps on Fortnite with low settings. So you say I should crank up the settings to high and see how it perform?

What res? Sounds a lot like CPU bottleneck. Heck GPU like 4090 can even get bottleneck at 4k with some high end CPU used by reviewer. Probably why nvidia chasing stuff like Frame Generation in DLSS 3 package because those FG can bypass CPU limitation.
