MY CPU IS AMD Phenom II X4 840 CPU 3.2GHz WHAT THE BEST GPU I CAN GET AND MY RES WILL BE AT 1280 BY 1024 would a gts 450 be ok with this system

You can install any GPU on that rig, the difference is how much do you want pay....

Go for a 7750 or a 7770, they're a lot better and efficient than a 450. Also new gen.

Yes you can. It won't run at 3.0 speed, but it WILL work. No question about about it. If it didn't, how do you think all these people with 3.0 cards on 2.0 boards are doing it?
