My XP operating system is not working properly after an Update?

Hello,i need to restore.
my system restore can be picked but it is stuck on the present month. I cannot go back any months to choose a earlier bold date

Hi I also Tried to acess in Safe mode but it still does not respond past the Restore scren which "wants you to pick a bold date to restore" Any help appreciated. D~
