I had to move the task bar to the side so it wouldnt cover the box in question. you can see the box here http://prntscr.com/o1l01u

That box is visible mainly when in full screen, such as background only or playing a game etc. its always there. I dont think it was there prior to yesterday's windows 10 update to latest version.

Anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it?

Thanks!

PS: I just clicked on my own link, only to realize that screen capture doesnt reproduce that box. Thought I was going crazy for a second. Its there bottom left side behind the Search. But its only visible in full screen and without the bar covering it.

So I took the shot with my trusty iPhone instead and here's how it looks http://prntscr.com/o1l2gn

Try changing you screen resolution and see if it remains or not. If not, switch back to your defualt resolution and see if it's still there. The update may have corrupted your graphics driver, requiring a re-install.

does it interfere with the mouse when you move over the area? tried right clicking it?

I assume you don't have an app called TranslucentTB as it actually makes normal taskbar invisible - https://news.softpedia.com/news/three-windows-10-features-i-want-in-version-1903-but-which-i-won-t-get-524833.shtml

try a clean boot, read instructions carefully and make sure not to turn off any Microsoft services or windows won't boot right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

Sure its not screen burn in? as since it only shows in photos it may not be something being shown by GPU
