$229?!? Who they think they're fooling with that crap resolution?

EDIT: I would buy something like this for my parents (if it were maybe $99 MAX) who are running a machine with a whole 128mb of vram- that low res would help with their frame problems with their current 1600x900 monitor...

Hey NEC the year 2000 called, they want their monitor back. I mean I get that its IPS, but why in this form factor/resolution? I could see maybe if it had super thin bezels for eyefinity, but it doesnt.

These monitors make very handy 2nd monitors for those of us with large monitors who don't want 2 30" panels. Best use for these is for reference imagery, Facebook and email or monitoring stats

The sad thing about this is that some sucker will buy this. Toms, why you posted this? I think/hope most of your users won't consider this at that price range.

NEC monitors are largely aimed at corporate business (read = business). Very few sensible people around here who knows that there are a whole lot more than enthusiast world.

Still using the term "Multisync" when it has been, what, two decades or so since that actually had a meaning? Now, the original NEC Multisyncs, they were cool back in the day.

Hey- don't get me wrong, I think it'd make a great second monitor. But it's just way too expensive.

I'm currently rocking a NEC AccuSync AS191 I got for $99. It's also a 19" 1280x1024 monitor, which is 5:4, not 4:3. I dislike it when people use these interchangeably, they're not the same thing. Anyways, I was surprised by this monitor since it actually has a very decent sRGB preset which looks like it's pre-calibrated, so I guess the "Accu" in "AccuSync" refers to "accurate" color. The second surprise was that this monitor is actually a 75 Hz display, which is almost unheard of nowadays. Right out of the box I can choose either 60 Hz, or 75 Hz. I made a custom profile at 72 Hz to sync with film frame rate and it looks great. It's a very responsive monitor. All in all I definitely got a bit more than what I paid for this monitor. Great value.

Hmmm... some people seems to think that resolution is the same as guality...
This monitor will most propably beat crap out of normal 1080p monitors in colur guality and screen uniform. And this is not a gaming monitor neither, but for professional usage when there is not room for larger monitor.

I personally am not going to buy this, but there are people who needs monitors like this. I personally am still waiting that affordable 27" 4K monitor, but it is waiting me in year 2017... just have to wait a little bit longer ;-)
