i need a new fps but haven't had the chance to see any of the new ones (i was a cs junkie until last year when the cheating got way out of hand AND my hd failed and poof no more hl). i want something that has semi-realistic guns and is more than just run and gun. anyone know of something that would fit my tastes?

Maybe Medal of Honor? It has a decent storyline and cool guns anyway. Also, you may consider Jedi Knight 2, which is quite a bit different thatn most fps's, but unrealistic guns of course.

I agree that MOHAA is an awesome 'smart' FPS. Some other games that I agree fit into the genre are Ghost Recon and Sum Of All Fears - in no way are these games a point and shoot affair.
 
Also I hear Delta Force Blackhawk Down is good...Played the online demo, very realistic weapons... graphics are great too.
 
what do you guys think of SOF2? i was thinking of getting that either legally or "legally"?

I played it, i just didnt really like it. The graphics were great and the gory deaths of the badguys were hilarious. It just had some flaws and wasnt that realistic to me. I cant wait until Raven Shield and Splinter Cell (i think thats the name of it) come out, those games look pretty sweet.
 
i like the multi player of sof2, but i never really got into the single player.

If you have unreal tournament download the mod Infiltration its the most realistic fps I've ever played and its free. One of the best things is it uses open sights. So the gun points to where you aim not in a random circle around a crosshair. Its community is small, but mature. And a new version is about to be released thats been over a year in the making. Anyone here tried "mobile forces" yet?
I think it's built off the ut engine, looks like a cs-genre game, but with more modes of play and lots of vehicles.
 
Well first off I have to say that UT2003 SUCKS!! Get SOF2, yeah the single player isn't that great but the multiplayer kicks major arse!!!! There is just a certain amount of pleasure you feel when you blow another dudes head off with your shotgun. Back to UT2003, does anyone agree that that game runs faster than your eyes can move? It moves so fast that everything starts to blend together for crying out loud. Just my opinion....

does ut2003 have keys? or is it like the old ones where it can be distributed reletively freely?
