ok so im looking to replace my current GPU the NVIDIA GTX 750 TI with something better. id prefer to stay with nvidia since my current card is already an nvidia card which makes drivers upgrades easier plus i just like nvidia cards better, but i am open to an AMD GPU if the price to performance is right. also id prefer a used card if possible to save on price below is some basic info you guys will need to help me decide

budget:250$ usa might stretch it to 300 but 250 is kinda my max because im on fixed income so i only get paid once a month

specs
DESKTOP PC HP Z400
CPU XEON W3565 STOCK SPEEDS
CURRENT GPU 750 TI
RAM 16 GIG DDR3 ECC
POWER SUPPLY 475 WATT PSU 80% BRONZE HP OEM

will consider upgrading my psu if it is needed also keep in mind i need a high end GPU that will not cause my current cpu to be a bottleneck because i cant upgrade my CPU anytime soon

the games i want to buy and play that require a better card

the witcher 3
doom 2016
homefront revolution

i game at 1920x1080 on my led tv and would prefer a constant yet stable 60FPS on all three games on high settings i dont need ultra settings but at least high

edit if u recommend me a card please if possible tell me how many amps on the 12 volt rails i will need to power the card thanks

im currently using a G1 gaming 1070 and its a solid card, my last card was an EVGA GTX 960 2Gb, it was also a great card that had no trouble maxing out games. I dont know much about your CPU so you might want to make sure you wont run into any severe bottle necking issues, however i doubt that you will, just a precaution.

the 470 will cause my old cpu to be a bottleneck

the 1060 wont work my cpu will be a bottleneck anything over a 780ti will cause my old 960 i7 to be a bottleneck

I would look at upgrading your CPU before considering a GPU upgrade. A 780TI should be able to handle your demands fine on 1080P. But it needs a good CPU in order to get the most out of it.

If 60FPS at 1080 is your goal, you can see in the top link I provided at 1080p the 1060 does 59 in witcher and 108 in doom, it didn't show your 3rd game. Vs your outdated 'high end' 780 ti doing 43 in witcher and 75 in doom.

These two show the same frame rates and expand with the settings used, though they are using a x99 and haswell E overclocked. So if your cpu does bottleneck significantly, the 780ti will still be worse than the 1060. I cannot find info on how bad the bottleneck is.

The 780TI isn't really that outdated though. If you're trying to run a 4K monitor it is, but for 1080P it shouldn't be.

i run my pc on a 25 inch led tv with a screen res of 1920x1080P and from what i read playing the witcher 3 at anything under 60fps is unplayable and slugish

The GTX 1060 isn't a horrible card, even with the bit of a bottleneck. It is roughly even with a GTX 980, so not hugely superior to a 780ti/970. A used 970 is always an option. With all the people replacing them with 1070, there should be a fair amount of them available.

would a 970 or 1060 fit well with my stock PSU or would i need a psu upgrade?
