Alright. I've never made a PC before but i am looking to do so now. It would be awesome if some community memebers could give me some feedback about the setup i have now and tell me what could be made better.

I plan on spending no more than $1450 building my system and feel that i have it pretty well mapped out.

I am going to be playing alot of Steam games, like CSS, Gmod, TF2 and ill also have some newer games like Starcraft 2, Napoleon Total War, And mainly First Person Shooters where the FPS really matter.

The current setup i have along with things i am unsure about are as follows::

-Processor Intel® Core™ i7 930 Processor (4x 2.80GHz/8MB L3 Cache)-

-Liquid CPU Cooling System w/ 120mm Radiator [SOCKET-1366]-

-Memory 6 GB [2 GB X3] DDR3-1800-Corsair or Major Brand

-2x NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 – 1GB-SLI Mode
OR
-2x ATI Radeon HD 5670 - 1GB-CrossFire Mode
OR
-1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 - 1GB
OR
-1x ATI Radeon HD 5830 - 1GB

-[SLI] MSI X58 PRO-E- Motherboard
OR
-[3-Way SLI] ASUS P6T Motherboard
OR
-ASUS P6T SE Motherboard

-Power Supply 750 Watt -- Thermaltake TR2 TRX-750M Power Supply-

-1 TB HARD DRIVE -- 16M Cache, 7200 RPM, 3.0Gb/s-Single Drive

-Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio-

So yeah, is there anything that could be substituted out? And which of the video card options would be better?

Thanks for the help

Edit: I know the system is a bit overkill.. i just dont want to have to upgrade for a long time

Theres no reason for a 3way SLI motherboard.. a basic motherboard with SLI is ample.

Your best bet is to buy a gTX460... it will play all of those games on the highest settings. Then in a year or two you can always add a 2nd if you want to.

Also no reason to buy a sound card unless you have $500 speakers and you have them so loud your neighbors hear it. Onboard sound is pretty good this day in age.

No reason for liquid cooling unless you're overclocking

Is there any preferable one of the two non-3way SLI or are they the same?

And would be justifiable to pay $38 more to get the 2gb gtx 460?
