[Need answer ASAP] Static IP trouble

Hello there
I am having some trouble setting and Static IP adress for my router. Whenever I actually set the IP my internet drops out. These are the tutorials I have followed: http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/17/set-static-ip-address-mac/

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have actually fixed it now. For some reason (router ip is 10.0.1.1) when I entered 10.0.1.10 the internet stopped working andnI then changed it to 10.0.1.11 and it worked.
