I need a New AGP card, primarily for oblviion, for now. Right now i got the radeon 9600 (ick). My budget is around 200+-. I dont knwo tons, but newegg has a Nvidia 6800GS for 200....?

A 6800GS is exactly what you're looking for.

Dont listen to the rest of the fags posting under me, telling you to buy an X800XL or GTO......tell them you gots to have your PS3.0 support@!

heh, you can't go wrong with a 6800 GS, or X800GTO. X800GTO might outperform in Oblivion in the foliage, 6800 GS probably beats it inside. Specs are near identical, however the ATI cards seem to be doing better in the shader intensive areas of the forest right now.

On second thoughts, 6800GS AGP versions usually cost somewhat more than the PCI-E version...
You may be tempted to go for a 6800 standard, but unless you seriously can't save the few extra bucks for the GS, do get the GS.

I got a BFG 6800GS from NewEgg for around $200. Oblivion looks/runs great with it. I would recommend it to anyone as a final AGP upgrade.

You got two choices. 6800GS for $200, or a X800XL for $180's. In and Out of Stock.

The X800XL will absolutely destroy the 6800GS while using fsaa and bloom in Oblivion. Firing Squads mainstream review showed the X800XL winning by as much as 75% in the stressful foliage areas over a 16 pipe 6800GT (faster than 6800GS AGP). We are talking an average of 20 fps for the 6800GT compared to 34.5 fps for the XL at 10x7 2X/8X bloom.

But the X800XL is only a SM2.0 card so you will not be able to experience HDR in Oblivion; which by the way looks amazing. But unless you are able to unlock/OC that 6800GS it will be weak for HDR anyway IMO. With a 6800Ultra and A64 4000+, I'm able to play at 1024x768 medium details with HDR with framerates in the mid 20's and up. I can also play at the same settings but with 2Xfsaa and bloom instead of HDR and get about the same or a little better performance.

Your call. To me the X800XL would be better than a stock 6800GS for Oblivion and most other games too. But It is a shame to not get to even see how good the game looks with HDR though. So an unlocked/OC'ed 6800GS would also be a good option if you desire to go that route.
( just so you can sleep better tonight GW  )

lol thanks for the info, cuz i know nothing abotu vid cards :). what did you mean by unlocked?

I promised myself i wouldnt play oblivion anymore till i got a better vid card :)
