Hello, I want to build a pc for productivity as I’m working from home and I spend an average of 10 hours per day in front of my laptop.

My number one priority is browsing. I am working with a lot of tabs open, for example, 30-40 depends on what I am doing.

The majority of “programs” I am using are online, and I am also doing some light Photoshop use.

I want an upgradable path for my build and I would also like it to be quiet. I am not planning to overclock at the moment if I go with a K processor.

I am choosing not to buy a graphics card at this time because the prices are very high, that’s why I chose to go with an Intel processor and not with a Ryzen.

Here is Choice #1: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VdsbZZ

238.53€ Intel Core i5-10600K Box

150.50€ MSI Z490 A Pro

151.60€ HyperX Fury 32GB DDR4-3200MHz (HX432C16FB3K2/32)

70.01€ Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB

84.65€ Seasonic Focus GX 550W Full Modular 80 Plus Gold

38.74€ Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo White

106.78€ Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX Black

Total: 840.81 €

Here is Choice #2: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Rj4tqp

167.10€ Intel Core i5-10400 Box

121.82€ MSI MAG B460M Mortar

151.60€ HyperX Fury 32GB DDR4-3200MHz (HX432C16FB3K2/32)

62.58€ Crucial P1 500GB

79.71€ Corsair TX-M Series TX550M 550W Semi Modular 80 Plus Gold

27.84€ Arctic Freezer 34

10.89€ Be Quiet Pure Wings 2 PWM 140mm

54.04€ Silverstone FARA R1 White

Total: 675.58 €

The prices are in euro and according to my country’s stores.

I’m planning to buy a graphics card after one year, around 200 €, nothing too big as I don’t need it.

I chose a 3200MHz ram as it’s almost the same price as the lower MHz RAMs.

Please let me know your opinion on my choices. What you think is a better Value for Money build?

I have one more post where I’m searching for a monitor for my set-up. I will like to read your comments there too.

R3 3200g absolutely destroys both CPU's with its integrated graphics.
Also a bit cheaper.

Hello Djoza, thank you for your answer.

The R3 3200g had 100€ before 6 months, today the price is at 215€

So I am thinking at the moment isn’t a good value for that price.

Also I am not playing any game.

Perhaps a Ryzen 3600 and a cheap GPU? Could also drop in the 3700X

For your needs, I think build #2 would be the better value for money build.

Build #2 with these changes.

A B560 or H570 board. I'll use these for an example.

ASUS PRIME B560-PLUS LGA 1200 SATA 6Gb/s ATX

Good observation but the B560 and H570 isn’t available in my country at this moment.
So I should go with an B460 with my second build.
What do you think about MSI MAG B460M Mortar?

Yes, I read it yesterday for the 11th generation, but it will take 1.5 or 2 months for them to come to my country.

@Eximo that would be exactly my build before 8 months with a GTX 1650 Super, but then I said
‘Lets wait for Ryzen 5 5600x‘ and here we are.

‘Personally’ I prefer Ryzen processors, but with today's data I ‘think’ it is better go with intel + integrated GPU.

I don’t want to spend money for a GT 1030 hehe (sorry GT 1030)

I would like to hear your opinion.

What you think about my two builds?
I know with 2nd build the ram will go at 2666MHz but I don’t know if it’s a really big difference vs 3200MHz.
Also i5-10600K vs i5-10400

I'm partial to Gigabyte motherboards and MSI GPUs, but that's just me. :)

Maybe this motherboard?

Or this motherboard?

It looks to be a solid board.

You could go with an i7 10700, and keep it less than build 1. I chose Z490, only because that is the only way you can currently get 3200 ram to run at full speed. B560/H570 it is uncertain when those will be obtainable.
