Based on where I'm at with graphics I'd recommend a 270x from AMD since 200-250 seems to be your price cap. The GTX 760 would be another option, but since those seem to start around 300 I'm personally throwing it out. Then again I'm a pretty solid AMD guy.

So if Nvidia is your thing then maybe you can find a good deal on the GTX 760 or better, but if you don't have a preference then the 270x is the way to go.

Just to filter through this as well, everything being designed in the new gen gaming wise is based around AMD hardware since all the new consoles are running nothing but AMD chips. AMD also seems to tout that BF4 was partially designed around their mantle software so that should help too. In the future of looking at...

AMD also seems to tout that BF4 was partially designed around their mantle software so that should help too. In the future of looking at things for the next few years going Nvidia is pointless as physx is now dead. Also I wouldn't read too much into the AMD "driver issues" as it is I've never read anything that was a real driver issue rather than a performance boost update, but when it comes to driver issues Nvidia really likes to take the cake because as it is AMD has never made any release of a driver that basically bricked your system and required you to reformat and install windows... there I let my fanboy out.

Edit: Having just looked at a few benchmark charts and videos it seems that the 270x will run BF4 at about 40-60 frames and according to the charts I've looked at it has a tendancy to beat the gtx 760 by roughly 15-25 frames in BF3. Wish I could give you a comparison between the 2 on BF4 but I didn't see a chart for 270x and bf4. Although it might be worth it to note that the 270x does hit around 100-120 fps on BF3. Hope this helps as well.

I have this gpu, and right now it can most likely max bf4 if you have a good enough cpu. I don't know why, but mine with a athlon x4 750k 3.4ghz sometimes drops to 40-50 on low when i look at certain things. Hopefully new drivers will fix (or even better mantle).

I've had good experiences with msi cards, especially considering my current rig runs 3 of their 7970 twin frozr cards that also happened to use a reference board so I could water cool all of them. Not that they needed watercooling, just that I'm really starting to like it having finally given up on the idea that water in a system is a terrible idea... sorta given up.

GTX 760s are not 300$ they were selling for as cheap as 200$ a week ago for a ref Zotac card on Newegg. They are 250$-270$ for the 2gb version (pointless to get the 4gb version really).
