this is my motherboard.. it has a PCI Express 2.0 x16 card slot

The computer is mostly used for watching movies, and some light gaming( the on-board video was running the game full graphic mode and it wasn't skipping or anything)
The issue is more with my HD video. When i watch a movie at my normal screen resolution 1680x1050. The movie will have these weird (glitch) lines for about a second. It only does it when there is alot of stuff happening like and explosion or if its raining. Just when there is alot of stuff happening at once i guess. But if i lower my resolution to 1024x768 it works fine no glitches at all.. so i am pretty sure its just my on-board video..

I am looking on newegg.com and free shipping if possible.
I guess since i have an AMD system i need to use an ATI card???
I have $60 - $70 to spend spend on a new card.
I have no clue what the low/high profile design does and what the (?#?) of stream processors does..
Soo any tips on what i need would be great.. thanks

Hi,

Well in your case, I'm not going to suggest crap that most people are about to suggest and thats 4850/70's and 9800GT's. As you claim, you do not need this much power.

By light gaming, what do you mean by that? What type of games are you hoping to play? GTA IV? Crysis? Or... Sims 3. Theres a big difference.

I own the 8600GTS 256MB DDR3, this GPU is vert good for your basic needs, and it also plays games like Call of Duty 4 maxed out with around 50FPS.

But if you want to go above CoD4, with high resolutions then I truly would suggest the 9600GSO. It has DDR3/128Bit/512MB. It's the best bang for your buck, and if you watch a few YouTube videos for this card, you will see that this card plays games like GTA IV and Crysis on...
just because you have an amd board, doesn't mean you have to use an amd/ati card. it just means you cant sli with nvidia cards later. low profile just means that the card stands a little lower. about half height of standard cards. number of stream processors is just how many processing units it has. amd thinks that more is always better, that is debatable. though, my suggestion would be a 4650 for that price point

this will work fine, is under your pricing, and is a lot stronger than the onboard 3200 than the 785g has

It also comes with a HDMI port, which allows you to connect it to your T.V and get the full 1080p HD.

It's only $39! - After Rebate. (And WOW by the way... I got my 8600GTS for $100, and its only half the speed of the 9600GSO. This a deal not to be missed. I still can't belive it's only $39... I wished I lived in the states, the 9600GSO is like $140 bucks in the U.K.)

This 9600GSO is almost the same as the 9800GT @ stock speeds. As I said before, this is not a deal to be missed, not at that price.

Hope this helped.

If you want to get a 4670, don't get the 1GB version since it's far too weak to use all that VRAM.

But I suggest a 9600GSO. It performs similar to the 4670. It goes for $60 on Newegg, and comes with a $20 MIR, so it's $40 after rebate.

EDIT: damn, godbrother already beat me to it! Anyways, yes, go for his suggestion of the 9600GSO.

Here is a review comparing the 9600GSO to the 4670:

Yes, it's the onboard video.
As ohiou_grad_06 says, the HD4670 is the best choice for you: Fair gaming performance and very good HD playback, all without the added problems of a more powerful card, such as needing an extra power input from the powersupply.
The 'Egg has several, including passive (silent) cards that match your budget. Be aware that passively cooled cards still need some airflow over their coolers, so avoid this option if your case has limited airflow.
