Hello, I'm wanting to make a gpu upgrade and am stuck on 2 choices and if there may be a better option than my 2 choices. I am currently running a gtx 1060 6gb and my upgrade choices I currently have are the Rx 6600 and the rtx 2060. The Rx 6600 goes for $240 brand-new (cad) and the Rtx 2060 for $180 used (cad). I have reviewed and researched and the Rx 6600 outperforms the Rtx 2060 but not by a long shot. I'm wondering if its better to just bite the bullet and buy the gpu new or to get the used one as they both perform relatively the same. If you have any suggestions I'm open to hear them keep in mind I have a budget of about $300 and then some if need be.

And to give more information on helping my cpu is a ryzen 5 1600. I know that there will be a bottleneck with both cards however I do plan to upgrade my processor soon as well. Thanks in advance

Between those two cards, I would opt for the RX 6600 over the 2060. Not only does it perform better, but it also has more video memory, so the card will last longer. Also keep in mind that Nvidia's 2000 series cards released in 2018, meaning they're over half a decade old. Radeon 6000 released in 2020. I wouldn't spend money on outdated hardware that's on its way out the door. The RX 6000 cards are only one generation old at this point.

However, considering your budget is 300 dollars, I would skip both those and grab the RX 7600. It's a hair faster than its predecessor, and it's much newer, meaning longer driver support and more recent architecture. You can get something like the Gigabyte RX 7600 Overclocked variant for around 280 dollars. Hope this helped, take care.

Thanks for the reply and yes the Rx 7600 was on the top my list however its out of budget at the moment. Lowest price I can find is $360 Canadian. Would you recommend waiting until the price for it drops lower or just go ahead and get the 6600?

I would avoid used GPUs for the time being. Also, the RX 6600 will have the extra 2GB of vram buffer for a longer useful life.
Is there a reason not to buy used cards? I assume because of the bitcoin mining frenzy a couple years back and even now. However I got my gtx 1060 used for 100 dollars and it has no issues that i can see and fulfills most of my needs.

My mistake, I forgot to convert your budget. This Acer Predator Radeon RX 7600 is a little over your budget at around 330 CAD. If you want to stick with your budget and need something now, grab the 6600. However, the newer 7600 will be worth the wait if you are willing.
Anything wrong with this one? I pay less on tax and shippings free
XFX RX 7600 saving me a couple more dollars. Thanks for the help by the way.
