Question Need help, new build is not booting after successful install of windows.

NEED HELP! Hello, I just built a pc for the first time in a few years. I was able to install windows just fine. I then changed a bios setting “network stack” to try to fix the onboard WiFi, this caused my boot to fail. I should also add that every time I booted my system up from beginning I would get a yes or no question about some setting, can’t quite remember what it was, but I was hitting no repeatedly, then when it wouldn’t boot I hit yes and since then I see the gigabyte insist ultra durable screen for a second and then it goes black and tries again. I can still get into bios, but I have tried all I can and I can’t get it to boot. Also in bios I have a light on my boot indicator. I have reset cmos, reset all my pieces besides my cpu. Motherboard is gigabyte gaming x ax, cpu ryzen 5 7600, ssd nvme w black 2tb, gigabyte 4070 ti super. I’m super bummed right now. Really hoping I didn’t totally mess up my whole system. Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

So, in the bios, have you selected the Default Settings option and saved it, then tried a reboot?

Loki has the right idea, if no joy, then check with company for correct BIOS settings. If no boot after fixing Bios settings trying windows insatllation media

Thank you for the response. Yes, I have reset factory settings and also setup settings neither have worked. Is there any chance I corrupted my drive by saying yes to whatever it was asking me? I’m most likely going to take it in to micro center if I exhaust all my options since I don’t have extra hardware to test. I’m not terribly knowledgeable about bios and software so let me know what you think I should do, I can post screenshots of my settings. I was fully in to windows and the traditional desktop before it started not booting

You should try booting from the windows install media e.g usb stick and see if you can boot into windows using the troubleshooting options e.g. Startup Repair, or Safe Mode etc. That will show if the Windows Install is damaged. There are other ways in that section that can be tried also.

Okay, I tried it with the stick as my primary boot and still getting same response. Would enabling secure boot in my bios do anything? Says I need to enroll the platform key and put system in user mode before I do that

I just enable secure boot and it didn’t do anything when active

Okay update, when I go into boot options and select either my nvme or my windows drive I get a BIInitialize library failed 0xc0000009

In your boot options, do you have any sort of network boot enabled?

For now, remove the GPU and just use the on-board video (yep, you have one).

Manually reset the BIOS (jumper or battery removal method). And try again.

Are you using a "recycled" Windows installation on your storage devices?

no, in my boot options it just says priorities with my ssd first then install drive second, bootup numlock state (on), security option (system), full screen logo show, fast boot (disabled), csm support (disabled) secure boot menu and preferred operating mode (referring to easy or advanced bios) and yea I am using a recycled windows install, I previously used this when building my first pc. I do have separate keys though. Thanks again for your help

With your previous install, were you using Bitlocker?

I also should mention if it’s any help my dram light comes on first on start up then moves to the other ones ending on boot when I’m in bios

Since you can access the BIOS, you likely are okay in terms of hardware, for the most part. What were the specs for your previous configuration?

And, have you reset the BIOS yet?

Maybe saying yes the option wiped the install drive because it was installed at the time?

Seems like this is a PK issue. When you first booted the system, did you get a message about a new CPU and resetting the security key, or words to that effect?

Is TPM enabled? CSM disabled?

Well no the first time, it kept asking me then I said yes and then it wouldn’t boot. Now it does t ask. I don’t know if saying yes to that would have anything to do with bitlocker and I know for sure that was in the yes choice. Maybe so though.

Yes was the right answer, since you had a new CPU. What OS do you have installed on the SSD?

You received the error above when trying to boot from a Windows installation image on a USB drive?

When booting from either drive. And it’s windows 10. I was able to successfully boot and was in downloading things no problem, it was only after enabling network stack and saying yes to the question that it failed
