I was on my computer earlier tonight watching a video when the computer just shut off. I pushed the power button and nothing happened. I switched off my power strip then back on and tried again. This time when I pushed the power button it came on but nothing showed on the monitors. I looked and noticed the light around the power switch was much dimmer than normal. I held in the power button to turn the computer off and when it switched off, there was a loud pop that came from the computer. After that nothing would happen when I pushed the power button. Very shortly after, I smelled the burning of electrical components. Someone told me to check the fuse in the PSU. When I opened it up, I found no fuse, but I did smell that burnt smell coming from the PSU.

What should I do. I can barely afford to buy a new PSU. I would really hate to buy one and have there be more wrong with the computer. I can not afford to have it taken to a repair place either.

Smell the back of the psu, if it smells burnt, its gone. I've had a few go on me in my lifetime, but never had one take out any components.

Yes the PSU does smell burnt. I can't really smell anything else burnt on the computer. I am praying that it's just the PSU.
