Hey there. I just bought a ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253 that you can see here http://www.ebay.ca/itm/181724801803?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I bought 3 fan with this instead of a after market cpu cooler and I was wondering where I should put my fans? I read a thread on this website telling me about hot air out cool air in bla bla bla, nothing to help me tbh. What does it even mean? I should install my fans the other way around so it shoot out? I was thinking of putting 2 120mm fans on the top shooting in on the cpu cooler, and I have a third one I was thinking of putting on the bottom OR front panel I dont know which place would be best, any suggestion, please? and thank you!! 😀

Solution
warm air rises, so don't try to work against that. intake near bottom of case, exhaust near top. i would avoid pushing air from the top AND pulling it out near the top - typically the "push" side carries longer and in a more concentrated way like a beam, while the "pull" side is like a wide shallow funnel. so you'll just end up forcing the warm air down towards the bottom of the case and the exhaust will pull fresh air right back out of the case.

and fans are cheap. and even cheap fans are good. i have a bunch of Cougar fans, the 120mm that come in a brown 4-pack, and they're great. a bit noisy at full power if you just hold one in your hand, but at lower voltages they push air and are very quiet. the 140mm versions are great...
The best way to set them up....

So I was thinking of putting one on the side shooting on cpu cooler, one on the top shooting on cpu cooler and then one on top shooting out for exhaust. is this a good idea? 0 in front panel and 0 bottom, I am wondering if it would be ok for now then maybe get 2 more fan one in front panel then one bottom or on side panel shooting out, how does this sound?

I am also wondering if shooting more air on cpu is better than shooting air outside..

Solution
Perhaps save up and get a cheap cooler for your CPU, something like a 212EVO or something along those lines, anything would be better than the stock one with the CPU. The thing is CPU coolers are not designed to have air blown at them, they are made to have air blown threw them over the fin surface. Blowing air at them from the side could disrupt the air flow of the fan attached to them and make them perform even worse, hope that makes scene.

The fans at the top of the case always blow out to remove the hot air accumulating at the top of the case, blowing into the case would recirculate the hot air in the case. The back fan generally blows out to remove the heat from the CPU cooler. But some with AIO water blow it in to cool the VRMs as they have no air from an air cooler to circulate air around them. Side fans are great to blow fresh air on the graphics card and front fans generally take fresh air in to circulate around the case, just my thoughts..
