Thank you!
can you tell me what is the difference in the pcb? Would it be that the heat is spread over a larger surface on the asus resulting in lower temperature of the card? Where as the the EVGA is smaller and the heat stays in the smaller area which makes it hotter?

I'll get ordering today, just need to transfer the cash onto the credit card, hopefully the banks are still open. I'll go with the same stuff i wrote like 5 comments above and go with the ASUS Card.

Once again, Thank you. I won't close the thread for now, incase i get stuck a bit with the putting together (hopefully i won't mess up).

Thank you very much! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

EDIT:
i found this card aswell.

Gigabyte 2GB GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X NVIDIA Graphics Card

Different PCB, Different cooling, and 3 year warranty. Maybe this one instead? The price is also lower by like £10 and the specs are the same from what i see.

the pcb is different as the asus one has more power delivery circuitry=more overclocking and better power consumpution

the 670 is also a great choice as it uses the same pcb as the 670 ftw but uses a cooler that is also meant for 680. a good choice is the gigabyte as it is cheaper than the asus and performs the same or better. the only drawback is that gigabyte cards are usually long bu it should fit

Thank you very much! Gigabyte it is! 😀 I will have a quick look but i think it should fit in the Corsair 500R, and if it doesn't, i can remove one of the slots to hold your HDD. I will only use like 2 at most!

THANK YOU!!! 😀

So Gigabyte gtx670 it is. Quickly going to check if it will fit and off i go ordering!

No problem fitting it in the case. Case supports upto 452mm cards. the Gigabyte is about 250mm

Thank you!!! 😀

you know the way you are meant to touch something metal before touching the parts, is it like that so some sort of static electricity doesn't get to the card? and if that is the reason, could i wear rubber gloves since rubber doesn't let electricity to pass?

no trust me. putting on stuff like thumb screws are impossible with rubber gloves. just touch the side of the case before you start building and touch it once every so often to discharge any static electricity. you could also get yourself a electrostatic wristband

too late for the wrist bands. 😛 but would the gloves help? i could always take them off for the thumb screws. and i will defiantly remember to touch the sideof the case. :)

nah then. dont bother with rubber gloves. just touch the side of the case every so often. recommend you do a out of the case test boot to make sure everything is working properly. put the mobo on the mobo box and without the anti static bag as it will cause short circuits

basically you plug in the cpu, the heatsink, the video card, the ram and turn on the power to make sure everything. all you have to hear for is the post beep and you are ready to install the system. to turn off the test boot, just flip the switch on the powersupply

Thank you! Will i need those special tiny speakers to hear the "beep"? and when i put on the heatsink, will i also put on thermal paste?

Thanks! the package should arrive tomorrow. 😀 Can't wait! 😀

I can't really comment on the system without looking stuff up (which I can't because I'm at work) but I can comment on the peripherals:

Razer's quality, recently, has taken a dump.

I would honestly suggest looking at the Corsair brand peripherals (keyboard and mouse).

I had a black widow, it was SUPER awkward. I think it was something about the key spacing. It broke within a month, I RMA'ed it and got another where the 3 key stopped working two months later. At that point I had had enough and bought a corsair K90 ( http://ncix.com/products/?sku=64131&vpn=CH%2D9000003%2DNA&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1360 ) and adore the hell out of it.

If you're an FPS gamer as the choice of Death Adder would suggest you might want to look at the Corsair M60 mouse, it's hyper comforable (for me at least) and weighs a little bit more which adds a lot of precision in my mind at least.

Just my two cents with a little anecdotal evidence ( =P ), take it for what it's worth.

if you are using the hyper 212 evo, you will need to apply thermal paste. the hyper 212 has some that comes with it.

for the speakers, i think you can just plug in some headphones in the back of the pc. i think

I've it facing down. There are holes there. I need help with one thing, the fan connectors from the corsair case has there pins ( http://i43.tinypic.com/34yd05l.jpg ) but i don't have then on the motherboard. What can i do to connect those?

If you can help me with that, THANK YOu ! 😀

BTW, the CPU cooler didn't fit, but ahh well, it happens. :/

Sorry for late reply... The cpu cooler was coolermaster hyper 212. the motherboard was asrock Z77 pro4. the CPU was intel core i5 3570k.... Apparently the coolermaster doesn't support the intel 1155 socket. i am a few mm off to have the screws straight in, the holes are a bit off...

and for the coolers in the case, do you know how i could connect them?

Thank you.

on the box it says....
Intel LGA775
AMD socket (754/939/940/AM2)

i am not tooo worried about that... my dad and i can make a stand for it ourself, use the reducing vibration thing not to scratch anything aswell. 😀

or just sell it off if that fails aswell.

Any idea how to get all the fans working?
