Question Need help

I got my new graphics card today (1060 6GB). I cleaned out by pc and everything before insterting the new card. But when I went to pull out my 960 it didn’t work.

The locks on the pci-e were completely stuck and I could only see half it it. I have a MSI B85m-e45 military class 4 motherboard. I saw online that people recommended reaching in with a flat screwdriver to push down the other part of the lock.

I tried this for a couple of hours but it never worked, thing is stuck like glue. After awhile I just decide to yank it out and now the card is loose exception the part that is locked on.

People say you can just brake it’s off but I don’t know how. What do I do?

Don't break your PCI lock.
It should simply push down towards the motherboard plane. It's a flimsy piece of plastic on a small little hinge. There is no adhesive or anything like that.

I would note that some of the locks actually slide back instead of push down.

Yeah but no matter how hard I tried it wouldnt move, I tried both up and down. Anyways now I want to push back the graphic card in place but it seems kind of stuck in place

NEver mind it’s back in place again

finagle your way to insert the card back to its normal installed position.
Then, push the lock back and down, and lift up, away from the board evenly.

It's not quite "zero insertion force", but it shouldn't be this hard.
