[SOLVED] Need some help on my upgrading choice.

This is my current setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4MfPf9

This is what I have come up with in terms of upgrading: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

I want 200+ fps in Fortnite with all low settings @ 1920x1080, would I get any lower fps with this new setup? I want to get a setup that will get over 144 fps in the hectic scenarios. I have heard that when a lot of people are fighting very close to each other, it's causing a lot of stress on the cpu, which is why I chose the Ryzen 7 3700x. I also want to stream in the future when my skill improves. Will I drop under 144 fps when streaming @ 1080p 60fps?

I would also like to know what I should upgrade first, as I only have 400$ in hand right now. Maybe the GPU? Thanks for reading.

Solution
Your upgrade list doesn't show anything.

For Fornite/1080P/144hz your GPU is fine. Your budget won't be enough for the 3700X however you can go 3600X & 32gb for your budget. Disregard the error message, this motherboard ships with updated BIOS and is a excellent choice for the money as it has Wifi/BT.

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.99 @ B&H)
Motherboard: ASRock B450M/AC Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($84.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($115.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $400.97

Since your upgrading the CPU/MB/RAM you'll need to do a clean install of Windows.

Here is a guide to help with optimizing the system for higher FPS as well.

Sorry about that, this is my planned upgrade https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BTwck6

Should I upgrade my GPU first to experience more fps instantly or cpu? I can also upgrade my ram if its compatible with my motherboard/cpu

Dont know much about this kind of stuff because I have never changed anything inside my pc and its a prebuild.

Because I live in Norway I will have to get the X570 motherboard by Gigabyte. I dont want any issues with BIOS, cause I dont know what BIOS even does or how to fix problems with it. I have heard that R7 3700x is better for streaming because of the core count but if you recommend the R5 3600x then ill look into it.

Yeah I have 400$ now but I'll be spending more as time passes. I will be spending the 400$ on a cpu or wait a month to get a 2070 super. I'm gonna be saving up so I'm just planning for the next year.

Dont have a budget except I dont want to spend over 1300$, would like to spend way less but ill spend whats needed.

Since your playing with most settings on Low (exceptions view distance for targets) the last part I'd consider upgrading is the GPU. The CPU, MB, RAM is what you want to start with and honestly, the coolers that come with the Ryzen CPU's are usually more then enough to keep them cool unless you have a very high room temp. If your not going to be getting the CPU/MB/RAM at the same time then it may be worth it to wait and save for 4th gen Ryzen in 2020 (early 2020 per rumors).

Have you tried overclocking your i5? If not then it may be worthwhile looking into as that could help a bit.

What would that cost me ish? Can I use a X570 motherboard or do I need something over 200$ for ryzen 4th gen? I dont use my pc for anything else than gaming, and i might stream in the future, but i can use Nvenc without lagging that much, or will a better cpu, ram and mb give me a lot more for my money?

Wouldn’t a R5 3600 + rtx 2070 super be better than R7 3700x + rtx 2060 super and same price?

I’m not sure if I need a R7 3700x for what I’m gonna use it for, cause I can just use NVENC for streaming

Motherboard support for 4th gen will depend on the manufacturers but like when the 3rd gen was released we'll need to wait for new BIOS for the X570, X470, etc.

If you stream off the GPU then the 3600(X) would work fine.

As for overclocking everything you need to know to do so is in the guide I posted above, it's not difficult but can be a little time consuming but could be worth it if it allows you to prolong your upgrade.

I'm not sure which streaming, CPU or GPU, is better for Fortnite. The only way to tell is to try both and go with whatever gives you better, more stable FPS.

Just watched a video where the guy used NVENC and X264 but he got 20 more fps with NVENC. Same setup on both encoding. Might aswell just buy a r5 3600x and a 2070 super instead of r7 3700x and 2060 super. Whats your opinion on that?

Also this shows the performance difference in games

Looks like the 3600/2070S/NVENC is the way to go for your streaming.

Thanks! And what should I upgrade first? CPU or GPU? Because I can buy the GPU without upgrading PSU or Motherboard, but CPU will require a new motherboard. I also want the most performance gain as quickly as possible, so a gpu would give me the most performance right now, wouldn't it?

This would be my setup with a 2070 super upgrade https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rrDJwh

This would be it with my current setup but swapping the cpu, ram and motherboard https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p3w7wh

Also would like to know how much better the r5 3600x is compared to my current i5 7600k. Won't upgrade if I won't notice the difference. Thanks for reading

Since your streaming with the GPU get the 2070S first and try it out. Since the GPU is handling the streaming then your current CPU may be sufficient enough to give you higher steady FPS although your 8gb of memory may be limiting. If you upgrade the memory buy a 2x8gb @3200mhz kit as you can use it with your current CPU/MB and for the newer CPU/MB if needed.

Will my current psu have the cables for a 2070 super? Would you recommend me to get the MSI 2070 super trio X for my current build or buy a cheaper custom card? Maybe I can get the normal 2070 super and not a custom card? Custom cards are so expensive in norway and I dont think its worth it..
