Need suggestion about graphics card update

my pc configuration

cpu - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition
motherboard - asus m4a89 gtd / pro usb3
ram - 4 gb
graphics card - xfx raedon hd 6670
hard disk - 1 tb

my motherboard has two graphics card slot. i have only only one graphics card installed "hd 6670". want to add another one maybe "hd 6870". do the both graphics card work properly. can crossfirex possible. if i add "hd 6670" what performance i will get. can "hd 6870" "hd 6670" work together. can i do crossfirex bridge or crossfire is done through pcie bus. what will be the best graphics card around $200. please reply. thankfully waiting.

The cards need to be the same model to work in CrossFire. You can't mix a 6870 with a 6670 or any other model. It has to be the same model. With regard to the 6670 - I do not recommend trying to Crossfire them (if it's even possible - on that I don't know). The performance of 2 x 6670s would probably not even equal a single 6870. If you want to stay AMD then get a 6870 and consider Crossfiring that card if you aren't happy with the performance. A 6870 is a big upgrade over a 6670. Make sure your PSU is up to it.

You have to have the same class of video card. Such as 67xx, 68xx, or 69xx cards. The 67xx and 68xx cards will not be compatible. They need the same GPUs, which they are not. The hd6870 would most likely yield close to or better performance than two hd6770s in CFX mode.

my psu is cooler master eXtreme Power Plus 600W. will it be ok if i install HD 6870.

what will happen if i install 6870 along with 6670. which one will work. is there will be any problem in the board.

The hd6670 and hd6870 just won't CFX together. As for the PSU. A SINGLE hd6870 will run on that PSU, but don't do more than that as it is not a quality PSU.

Your PSU will be fine for a single 6870. If you get a 6870 then remove the 6670 completely (and sell it or save it to use for testing or use it in some other machine).

I think you will be very happy with the performance jump from a 6670 to a 6870.
