Need to build a Paladin...

Hiya,

well, the game is telling me that I have to build a Paladin now!
In the last two weeks, I found two grand charms:

+27 life, +1 combat skills
+30 life, +1 combat skills

And if this wasn't enough, digging through my ATMA stash I found the
following charms:

+17 life, +1 offensive auras
+3 max dam, 1 combat skills
+1 defensive auras
+1 combat skills

I've already ruled out a Hamerdin, as I don't like spell-casting too much.
I want some kind of a stick to poke at my enemies.

I've looked at a ranger build, but what would he use as secondary melee
attack?

I'm currently making a HC paladin. He uses Defiance, Holy Shield , LvL 4
Zeal for 5 hits, but eventually will have the 3 resist auras with points in
them and alot of points into Vengeance. I'm sick of dying against Oblivian
Knights and that wretched curse Iron Maiden. LoL!
