Solution
The 3600x, unless you find a good a sale on one, isn't worth going with, over the regular 3600. Much depends on your budget. An R5 3600 is a great chip, for the money. B550 boards should be coming soon, so you might want to wait for those.
Put this sucker on craigslist for $200, and sell it for whatever you are offered over $75. The only two items that are worth anything are the GPU and the case. While the power supply was not cheap when it had been introduced to market, it is about 10 years old now. This CPU is from AMD's darkest days of history. Those suckers were truly horrible. Thankfully AM3/+ platform was there to keep the company going to allow for Ryzen to come to fruition. I commend everyone (including your uncle) who took one for the team and spent money on that garbage.
