Needs upgrade from NForce GPU...

Ive an ASUS A7N266 mobo with an onboard GeForce 2 GPU. (32 mb). Needs more gaming HP for FPS--budget here is limited to <100 USD. Can anyone recommend any graphics card for FPS 3-D gaming that I can drop into my 4X AGP slot? I am using an AMD 1700 Athlon CPU in either WIN 98 or WIN XP.

check for some Radeon 9500 np's or 9600 np's. For $130 you can get a Radeon 9600 Pro 128 mb (about GF4 speeed in DX8 and about half the speed of a 9700 Pro in DX9)

Thanks for the Radeon suggestion--I am aware of the 9500, 9600 series Radeon vid cards but this will be a Christmas gift to a relative and short of a winning lottery ticket, I cannot exceed $100 for his new vid card.

If you can find an BBA8500 or LE it'll beat the pants off that on board thing and should be around than $100US (guessing).

FOr your budget, get a Geforce 4 TI4200. YOu won't get DX9 functionality, but games will be more than playable. ALso, its the best buy in its price category.
