Ever since I've installed Windows XP, I've been looking up stuff for it. Tips, tweaks, etc. Here's one:

I quote:
"If you have to reinstall Windows XP you normally will have to reactivate too. Well not anymore. Just copy wpa.dbl after you activated the first time. It is located in the WINDOWS\system32 folder. Now if you reinstall Windows XP just copy the file back and you're up and running again."

We're evil...heh heh heh...

You know what stinks about it though? It's a humongous install! You won't be able to just get by using one CD to image it, that's for sure. That's the one thing I'm sad about right now. :frown:

I installed XP with just one image. XP pro final was what I installed. WOrks great no worries at all.

I actually take that back. After installing 4-in-1 drivers, and graphics drivers, then grabbing the latest updates at Windows Update, I'm at 1.15GB. (Completely fresh install). Keep in mind, I haven't installed any programs. Well, I guess I can image this. But, after any apps, I think it'll take two disks. Argh...

Gotta love the Corporate version.

Dude!

If this is true, the faintest glimmer of me upgrading to XP just started. Officially, there is now 1 snowball's chance in hell that I will upgrade.

Rich is the nation that has many war heroes. Long since forgotten...

Yup! I didn't think I'd get a chance to run XP, until yesterday. That CD my friend gave me had that file, too. I opened up my Windows\System32 folder, and there it was. So, that was awesome!

Chances are, I think I'm gonna go back to Win2K and wait to see how other tests go. I'm just glad to know that I got it and if it goes cool, then I can migrate easily.

Now all they need to do is cut about 75% off the price and there will be 2 snowballs chance.

I do fancy having my very own colourful box "full edition" of an OS. Started with a crappy OEM version of 95B and then upgraded from there.

If prices were about half of the current price, less people would be keen to copy and less money would be lost = cheaper prices etc.

The reason why they're so expensive is because of all the pirated versions that circulates around. I don't mean small ones like some of us, but people that mass produce them, slap their own stuff, then people buy it from them. But still...

No offense guys, but pirated software is stealing, plane and simple.

I just upgraded from Win95 to WinXP. I held back from upgrading my OS for years cause I didn't want to fork over the bucks for upgrades that really didn't have much of an advantage.

And before anyone asks, ALL of the software on my system is legal, and I am not a fan of Bill Gates!

Congratulations. I don't know a single person that can claim that. They should give you a cigar and a trophy.
