I've finally decided to get a new rig.
I've been using an i5-2500k & a GTX960 for years. Most of the rest of the system is also from 2011 & NCIX :)

I will use it to game, internet & stream movies/music online.
I'm in Canada so CAD for $.
Budget: $1200 give or take
Will probably buy in the next 30-60 days
I generally don't buy the newest games. Looking to get Red Dead 2 in the future
Right now primarily play older games like Skyrim/Fallout 4/NV. Dishonored/2, Prey
2 Monitors are 1920x1080
Don't need windows or any other peripherals
Don't have a preference about RGB either way
Will probably two x2 HDD from my current PC and install in this one.
Want to buy from places with good return policies(Amazon.ca etc.)
Haven't thought of VR so it's not a priority but may look at it sometime.

So I'm missing the GPU. I'm honestly not sure which way to go so advice would be great.

I am not locked into any of these parts.

Thanks folks.

I'd get a 650 or 750W PSU to have headroom with a higher end GPU or for the sake of holding onto the unit in the build for a long period of time. Quality units(alongside higher wattage units) aid in holding onto a PSU for a long while. Perhaps a PCIe 4.0 SSD in place of the Samsung 970 Evo Plus. You could add this GPU, but it's going beyond your pre-allocated budget.

Over budget yes, but it's packing a good punch when you want to game and stream off the same platform.

You can cut cost by going with this board and take the savings and put it towards a better psu. 550w psu for a RTX 3060 and 650w psu for a RTX 3060 Ti.

This psu is manufactured for Phanteks by Seasonic.

Should I worry about CAS latency of the RAM I'm looking at? The ram in my list is ddr4-3600 CL16. Canada Computers also has G.SKILL ripjaws ddr4-3200 which is also CL16. I know the ram I have on my list is faster(3600) but will I even notice it while gaming or whatever? the CC price is $84 for 2x8GB and the PCpartpicker ram is $114?

The noticeable difference for Intel 11/12 gen builds in regards to 3200mhz vs 3600 is slim to none.
