Hey guys,

Doing a build for my friend and I'd like to do a quick compatibility check. This is a hyper low budget build. Basically, I'm buying everything except the CPU, GPU and Optical Drive (he found a great deal on a Skylake i5 last week, bought it and asked me to build around it.) So the actual budget is around 400$ Canadian shipped.

This build needs to be good enough for World of Warcraft: Legion, Overwatch, DoTA2 and League of Legends.

Here's what I'm thinking of going with
CPU: (Already bought, must be in final build) Intel I5-6400

MoBo: AsRock H110M

GPU: (I'm giving him my old one)
EVGA GeForce GTX 670

PSU: Seasonic G550 Gold Rated 550W

Case: Random Case, Azza or something it's cheap with decent reviews

[strike]DDR3 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB)

DDR4 RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws-X 2133 DDR4 RAM

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all that this forum does for the community, you guys are great!!

The selected motherboard is a ddr3 version.
But, the ram is 1.5v so it will exceed skylake specs.
Best to go to a ram selection app and enter your motherboard.
You will get a list of compatible ram kits.
Vengeance is a brand and you pay for fancy heat spreaders. Ram does not really need any.

It turns out that ddr3 and ddr4 performance is the same.
Still, I would pick a DDR4 based motherboard and DDR4 ram.

I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. It makes everything you do much quicker.
120gb is minimum, it will hold the os and a handful of games. If you can go 240gb, or 500gb you may never need a hard drive.

I would defer on the hard drive unless you need to store large files such as video's.
It is easy to add a hard drive later.
Samsung EVO is a good choice.

If you insist on a hard drive, buy Western digital, they are more reliable.

An SSD exceeds price cap by quite a lot.

I'll look into DDR4, thanks!

Updated MoBo and RAM, care to take a look? I'll see if I can find an on-sale WD hard Drive
